Cape Cod Knife Designer Raises $50K In Toys For Tots Drive

Toys For Tots

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Lucas Burnley, who lives on the Cape, has a successful custom knife business.

Five years ago, he started an online raffle this time of year to raise money for Toys for Tots.

It didn't raise much at first--but this year, Burnley raised around $50,000 in just 24 hours.

"What their mission really is about is delivering hope," Burnley told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens. "And it's not just hope for children, but it's hope for families and hope for communities. What better gift can you give during the holidays than hope?"

He says Toys for Tots has always held a special place in his heart.

"I used to get Toys for Tots when I was a kid, occasionally," he said.
