Police: Lyft Driver Threatened Couple With Metal Pipe

Lyft Gives Up Pink Mustaches To Challenge Uber In New York City

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- A Lyft driver has been shut out of the app after he allegedly threatened a customer with a metal pipe.

Driver Jesse Colon is charged with assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon.

He had just dropped off a man and woman in the North End just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning when they called back to say they had left a personal item in Colon's car.

Colon returned, and police say the three got into an argument that turned into a fight.

The couple claimed Colon took out a metal pipe and started waving it around.

Lyft calls the allegations "extremely concerning," and has deactivated Colon's account.
