BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Multiple fire units were called to Natural Grid's LNG tank on Freeport Street in Dorchester for a possible hazmat situation Tuesday.

The iconic Liquefied Natural Gas tank is located off the I-93 Southeast Expressway.

Boston Fire say they responded to an alarm at 220 Victory Rd, at around 4 p.m. and established a Level 2 Haz Mat response per their protocols.

Their initial gas meter readings were negative or any kind of gas release.

Both on and off ramps to I-93 northbound from Freeport Street and Gallivan Boulevard were closed as Boston Fire and National Grid investigated.

The ramps re-opened and crews cleared the scene shortly before 5:00 PM

No injuries were reported;
