Police Quickly Capture Bank Robbery Suspect

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) – A man who allegedly robbed the East Boston Savings Bank on Squire Road in Revere Wednesday is behind bars.  Steven Spolidoro, 41 of Woburn, Mass, was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Revere Police chief James Guido tells WBZ-TV Spolidoro allegedly showed up at the bank in a New England Patriots shirt around 12:30 P.M passed a note and collected $1,000 dollars.

The bank employee flagged down an auxiliary officer and together they gave chase across the Tobin Bridge.   Police say Spolidoro ditched the car on Nashua Street and tried to make a run for it on foot.

The area was suddenly swarmed with police.   He was found in a port-a-potty behind the TD Garden.

One officer suffered minor injuries and expected to be ok.

Spolidoro is expected to be arraigned in Chelsea District Court Thursday.
