BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Young patients filled the room as Conductor Keith Lockhart and members of the Boston Pops performed holiday classics Tuesday.
Former Patriot Sebastian Vollmer read "Twas The Night Before Christmas," and the Pops played the holiday classics.
Lockhart even gave up his baton to a young guest conductor for "Sleigh Ride."
Children's Hospital Child Life Specialist Kirsten Getchell said the concert is a big deal.
"They're missing their families, their family traditions, their schools," she said. "So bringing a little bit of the holiday spirit is so important."
Pops conductor Keith Lockhart said he hopes his audience is home, rather than in the hospital, next year.
