WORCESTER (WBZ-AM) -- Worcester Police are hoping the public can provide information about a body found in a burning car at Mount Hope Cemetery on Tuesday.
Police and Fire were called around 8:30 a.m. to respond to a car fire. Once the fire was put out, they found human remains inside.
"Right now, we are classifying it as a suspicious death," said Worcester Police Lt. Sean Murtha. "Until we have more information, we're not going to call it a homicide ... It's still so early, there's a lot that we need to find out first."
Those remains have not yet been identified. The owner of the car has--but police haven't released that owner's name.
"It's shocking, it's kind of chilling," local resident John Durso told WBZ-TV. "You don't expect to come across something like that."
Investigators are hoping somebody in the area saw something that could be helpful.
