Ugly Christmas Sweater Dance Party Kicks Off at Faneuil Hall

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- It was cold outside Friday morning, but inside Faneuil Hall, an ugly sweater dance party had things heating up.

At 7 a.m., the two-hour yoga and dance party began. It was part of a global wellness initiative called Daybreakers.

"You do this because it's a place where you can express yourself that's safe, that people aren't under the influence of anything but their own energy and their good vibes," Daybreaker's Boston producer, Chris Cullinane, told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens.

The event featured a snack and juice bar, and participants were told to don their ugliest holiday sweater.

Cullinanae said the event is all about self-expression.

"It's a great way to start the day," said one woman. "I've been coming to Daybreakers since the beginning of the year, and you go out into the rest of the day with so much energy and so much love, it's great."

"I think it's really motivational and inspiring to have an opportunity to dance at the beginning of your day," said one participant.
