MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police are investigating a fatal crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

Police say a southbound car struck the center barrier at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

As the five people inside got out to assess the damage, a car driven by 32-year-old Nicholas Beauchemin struck the car and one of its occupants.

Police said 18-year-old Owen Halverson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for about four hours. Police said at this time, it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
