BOSTON (AP) — One Boston's family early Christmas gift couldn't wait for her parents to get to the hospital and was delivered in car outside of a police station.
Boston police officers were returning to the station with a prisoner early Thursday when a frantic dad-to-be flagged them down to help his wife who was in labor.
One officer called EMS, two other officers went to help and baby Francesca was delivered safely to new parents Tracey and Francis Pierre.
Francis Pierre cut the umbilical cord before they were taken to the hospital.
The officers who assisted the Pierres reunited with the family in the hospital later Thursday. Officer Nadia Siconolfi says the mother deserves credit for staying so calm.
Siconolfi says it was a "good day."
