BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- One person is dead and five others were transported to local hospitals early Friday morning shortly before 5 a.m. after a two-car crash on Columbus Avenue and Heath Street in Boston's Mission Hill neighborhood.
The two cars landed about 100-feet apart with both front ends heavily damaged. One of the cars ended up crashing into a fence.
Police say it appears speed may have been a factor to the crash.
Boston EMS tell WBZ NewsRadio1030 that one victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The others were transported to local hospitals. Their injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
Police shut down Columbus Ave southbound for several hours while they investigated the scene
In addition, MBTA bus service in the area affected the morning commute.
