BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The family of late Mayor Tom Menino is carrying on one of his annual traditions in Dorchester by partnering with Catholic Charities in distributing 4,000 toys to low income families.
They are big shoes to fill but his children are carrying the tradition
"For 20 years he did that and when he passed my brother and I decided that we were going to continue and every year it gets bigger and bigger. We just hope to do it better every year," said Susan Menino-Fenton, daughter of the late mayor.
Elizabeth Neeley's two kids are getting toys through the drive and says she is thankful as it has been a rough year for her and her family.
"We just lost a loved one through a homicide, we didn't even want to celebrate Christmas," she said.
