LOWELL (WBZ-AM) -- Cleanup continued Monday morning at a London Street home where burst pipes destroyed everything inside.
Jared Frasier of Milltown Plumbing said every single water pipe in the home froze and burst while the owner was away in the hospital.
"Windows were frozen, the rugs were frozen, everything was frozen," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karyn Regal. "Pretty much what you're standing on now, after it's thawed, was literally two inches of ice."
The Lowell Fire Department had to come and shut the pipes off.
Frasier said they immediately got the boiler running to melt the ice.
"[We] let it run for a couple days to thaw the building out, so we could come back and replace the split pipes," he said.
