BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Massachusetts was ranked as the best state for raising a family in a WalletHub study released Monday morning.
The study, entitled "2018’s Best & Worst States to Raise a Family," used 42 different criteria to rank all 50 states on their family-friendliness--ranging from how much an average family in the state makes to the price of housing to unemployment rate.
Minnesota came in second place, with New Hampshire coming in third.
As for the rest of New England, Vermont ranked 5th, Connecticut 11th, Maine 17th, and Rhode Island 22nd.
New Mexico came in last.
