Middlesex Prosecutors Told To Waive Bail Requests

BOSTON, MA -- (24/7 News Source) Middlesex County prosecutors are moving toward a policy of not asking for bail for minor nonviolent crimes.

District Attorney Marian Ryan says offenders for crimes like drug possession and shoplifting can have their lives upended when held for extensive period of times because they can't afford bail.

The policy has been adopted in other districts across the country.
