NASHUA, NH (WBZ-AM) -- A woman told police in Nashua Wednesday that a man was shot to death in her home, and then led them on a chase into Massachusetts and back --before she was arrested.

But when all was said and done -- there was no body.

Carmelita Vergez, 54 of Nashua, NH faces several charges -- including resisting detention and arrest -- in connection with the incident.

She told officers about the death and drove away before they could learn more.

The chase went into Tyngsborough, where police there say Vergez was involved in a minor crash -- before heading back to Nashua, where she was arrested after she stuck another vehicle and ran on foot.

She pleaded not guilty Thursday to several misdemeanor counts.
