1 Seriously Injured in Route 24 Crash

AVON, MA (WBZ-AM) – State Police are investigating a multi-car crash in on Route 24 in Avon less than 20 hours after a fatal crash happened less than 2 miles away.

Police say the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. when two cars collided on the northbound side of the highway near Harrison Blvd at Exit 18.

One of the cars flew off the road and into the wood striking a utility pole.  One of the occupants a 23-year-old female was ejected from the vehicle and was MedFlighted to Mass General Hospital in Boston with serious injuries.

Two other people were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

It took crews nearly 5 hours to remove the mangled wreckage after that power worked to restore down power lines.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation
