BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- There is a major shift in the Massachusetts Senate.
Linda Dorcena Forry, the sole black member of the Commonwealth's Senate is leaving. The Dorchester Senator's office confirmed to WBZ NewsRadio1030, that she's leaving to take a Vice President's position at Suffolk Construction.
Friday will be her last day at the State House.
Dorcena Forry who is also the only Haitian-American elected in the Commonwealth's senate was listed as potential candidate to potentially replace former Senate President Stanley Rosenberg who stepped aside temporarily in December.
Rosenberg resigned after several men, some of whom had business before the Legislature, told The Boston Globe they had been allegedly sexually abused his husband Byron Hefner.
