BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts casino regulators have called a meeting to discuss sexual misconduct allegations against Las Vegas billionaire Steve Wynn.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission says it will meet Wednesday to discuss the allegations reported in the Wall Street Journal against Wynn, whose company is building a roughly $2 billion casino just outside Boston.

In a statement, the panel said its enforcement bureau has begun a review of the matter "to assess implications for ongoing suitability."

Wynn and his company passed background checks conducted by the bureau prior to being awarded the only eastern Massachusetts resort casino license in 2013.

The Journal reported that a number of women said they were harassed or assaulted by Wynn. He has denied the allegations.

Wynn resigned Saturday as finance chairman of the Republican National Committee.
