BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) – State House Speaker Bob DeLeo is promising no new taxes in the upcoming budget.
“We will be passing a balanced budget that takes care of our most vulnerable residents while maintaining fiscal discipline,” he said during this presentation at the Beacon Hill on Wednesday.
He told House lawmakers they'll take up several legislation that provides funding for early education workforce development and early childhood mental health services.
He also wants to put in more money to help the life sciences sector.
“Empowering businesses by giving them an expanded tool box,” he said.
However, DeLeo did not say where the money will come from to pay for these proposed new programs.
