BROCKTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Court documents reveal that LarTarsha Sanders,43, stabbed her two boys to death during a “ritualistic incident.”

The brothers, ages 5 and 8, were found stabbed to death inside the Prospect St. apartment on Monday. According to Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz, both were found in separate beds in the home.

Cruz said that Sanders tried to cover her tracks by cleaning up blood and the knife they believe was the murder weapon leaving it in the sink.

“She cleaned blood up, she was cleaning the weapon that was found in the sink in the kitchen of the home also cleaned up,” Cruz said.

He also said that Sanders tried to change her story several times to investigators. She initially tried to lame the killings on her other 16-year-old son, then changed her story telling investigators that she stabbed her sons had failed at some kind of ritual.

”I think it's fair to say that the statement that she gave was disjointed at times, so we don't have a lot of clarity to a lot of things that she was saying at this point,” Cruz said.

According to the court document obtained by WBZ NewsRadio 1030, when she was asked “why did you stab your sons?” she responded because "of the voodoo stuff," she told police.

The document also says Sanders' mother telling investigators that her daughter had become obsessed with the rituals of the Illuminati after watching a YouTube video.

“We believe based on her comments that she was involved in some form of rituals that she believed they were gathering information as we speak right now,” Cruz said.

There was some high tense moments when some two dozen family and friends packed the courtroom during the arraignment in Brockton District Court on Tuesday. They did not comment afterward.

Sanders hid behind a screen not showing her face before the court during the arraignment.

She pleaded not guilty and was held without bail and is due back in court on April 9.
