Rob Gronkowski's Foxboro Home Robbed While He Was At Super Bowl

FOXBORO (WBZ-AM) -- While he was away at the Super Bowl this weekend, Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's Foxboro home was robbed, police confirmed.

Police were called to his home about a mile from Gillette Stadium around 6:18 p.m. Monday, shortly after the Patriots returned home from Minnesota after their loss to the Eagles.

They would not say what day they believe the burglary took place, what was taken, whether or not they were searching for any suspects, or whether or not anyone was home at the time.

However, WBZ-TV reports that 3 weapons were stolen from a safe inside the home

"This isn't an emergency this is Rob Gronkowski calling. While I was gone, my whole house got robbed while I was on the Superbowl trip and I just got back," he tells the 9-1-1 dispatcher.

While Gronkowski does not have a Licence To Carry permit in Massachusetts,  his assistant, friend and roommate Robert Goon does have a state issued licence to carry the licence which was issued in October 2017.

Foxboro Police Chief William Baker said no other homes in the neighborhood were burglarized during the same time period.

"I think it's kind of a tough combination, to have suffered this unfortunate loss and then to get home and be a victim of this kind of crime, which really has a profound effect on everyone who is a victim of this crime, when your personal space is breached like that," he said.

Chief Baker said the department is looking for any information about the burglary.

One neighbor told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker that a break-in is not a regular occurrence in the neighborhood.

"It's a very quiet neighborhood full of a lot of families and a lot of kids," said neighbor Andrea, who has lived there for four years. "We just feel incredibly sorry, and we feel bad for Rob for coming home from the Super Bowl to this invasion of his personal space."

She said Gronkowski is a great asset to the neighborhood and down to earth. She thinks his house was targeted.

"Obviously he wasn't home, he was in Minnesota," she said. "Perfect time to probably just hit his house."
