BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Rob Gronkowski's wishy-washy answer about coming back next season has fans worried--and has sparked reports that Gronk may be considering leaving the NFL for a film career.

Boston Sports Journal editor Greg Bedard told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Adam Kaufman that he could see it happening.

"We have seen over the past couple of years Rob dip his toe into the Hollywood, TV waters as part of Gronk, Inc.," he said. "I think that they have seen that the water is warm and comfortable, and it's a lot of money and you don't get beaten up."

Gronkowski has a long history of injuries with New England--and Bedard says it may not be worth the pay anymore for him.

"I think we're headed for a showdown between the Patriots and Gronkowski where the Gronk camp says, look, Rob can go make x-amount of money in Hollywood, in movies, TV, whatever, everybody loves Gronk," he said. "It's either you make it worth his while as far as being the top-paid tight end in the NFL--which he is far from at this point in terms of guaranteed money--or, we're going to go there. Because nobody's diving for his knees in Hollywood, so why would he risk it for $8-9 million a year in football?"
