15 Displaced From Fire In Worcester

WORCESTER, MA (24/7 News Source) --  15 people are displaced from a fire at a large apartment fire in Worcester Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the building at 76 West Street at around 4:30 a.m. where efforts to battle the blaze were hampered by frozen fire hydrants.

Officials say the fire started in the basement and spread through a pipe chase to the third floor.  It caused extensive damage.

The American Red Cross is aiding displaced residents.
