FREEPORT, ME (WBZ-AM) -- If you've ever shopped at L.L. Bean you know that they have a pretty liberal lifetime return policy.
The Maine-based retailer says it's killing it's life-time product replacement program because a "small, but growing number of customers" took taking advantage of their generous policy expecting refunds on heavily-worn products used over many years or returning items bought at yard sales.
L.L. Bean now says customers will now have a-year after buying something to return it .if you have proof-of-purchase.
