Man Arraigned In Stabbing Death Of Girlfriend, Attack On Parents

MILFORD (WBZ-AM) -- A man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death and attacking both his parents with a knife was arraigned in his hospital bed Monday afternoon at Milford Regional Medical Center.

Benjamin Walsh faces a number of charges including murder and attempted murder.

Walsh's face was bruised and his hand was bandaged, but a hospital official declined to tell WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kendall Buhl why he is hospitalized.

Walsh sobbed, handcuffed to his hospital bed, as Norfolk County prosecutors read the police account of finding the body of his girlfriend, Olivia Bergstrom, at their Needham apartment.

An autopsy found Bergstrom suffered two dozen knife wounds.

Police went to the apartment after Walsh allegedly attacked his parents with a knife at the Primavera Restaurant in Millis around 7 p.m. Saturday.

His father has been released from the hospital; his mother remains in serious condition.
