Teen With Rare Blood Disease Signs With Curry College Basketball

MILTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- It's a dream come true for  14-year-old, Malachi Harris.

While he may only be a teen, he signed on to play basketball for the Curry College Colonels  as part of a Team Impact Initiative.

Harris was diagnosed with Hemophilia B, a rare blood disease,  shortly after he was born making contact sports impossible.

Team Impact is a national non-profit based in Boston which connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life changing outcomes.

WBZ NewsRadio1030's Chris Fama spoke with Malachi's parents Towanna and Marvin Harris shortly after his draft day signing.
