ANDOVER, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A special education teacher is suing the Andover, MA School District -- for what she believes was a wrongful job termination.

Teacher Jacqui Silvani says -- after taking a leave of absence to support her 5-year-old son in his battle against cancer -- she was not hired back and her job was posted online.

Silvani says she is convinced she lost her job due to her son's medical bills, which totaled over a $1-million-dollars.

She has since filed a suit with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Andover's Superintendent of Public Schools says the district disagrees with the allegations.

WBZ NewsRadio1030’s Carl Stevens reports.
