BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Boston area students are hoping to change social issues one song or artwork at a time.

A summit of a different kind took place in Dorchester on Wednesday with a group of teenagers are brainstorming on ways to change social issues using art.

Whether its poverty, racism, or sexism, these Boston area students are hoping to make a positive impact through art.

Justin Le is one of the participants of this youth arts for social change summit, hosted by the Boch Center’s Teen leadership council.

The Boston Latin Academy junior is hoping to break gender stereotypes through his songs. He also believes art can help prevent violence.
