Injured Woman Wants Reform On Mauling Laws

SANDWICH, MA (24/7 News Source) --  A victim of a dog mauling on Cape Cod is seeking new measures to protect people from incidents like the one she suffered.

State Representative Randy Hunt held a forum in Sandwich last week at the request of Elizabeth Hiatt, who was mauled by a pit bull named Bubba last September.

Hiatt proposed automatic hearings for dangerous dogs when a victim is hospitalized or must receive emergency care.

Bubba was euthanized after another attack on a groomer at a PetSmart in Hyannis in December, and two other serious dog attacks have been reported in recent months.
