State Trooper With Past Criminal Record Suspended Without Pay

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) – A Massachusetts State Trooper whose criminal past came to light last week is now "suspended without pay" pending an internal affairs investigation.

Trooper Leigha Genduso who testified under immunity to dealing and using marijuana at the trial of her former boyfriend over a decade ago had been on paid administrative leave.

Genduso was hired as a State Police Dispatcher after the trial, then became a State Police  Trooper in 2014.

She is the ex-girlfriend of State Police Lt. Colonel Daniel Risteen who abruptly retired last week amid the on-going investigation into the altering of a state police report on the arrest of the daughter of a Worcester County judge.
