WESTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A Weston Police Officer is released on personal recognizance after he's arraigned for driving drunk while he was off duty.
Leo Richards is accused of crashing his vehicle behind police headquarters at around 10:30 last night and then driving away.
According to the Weston Police website, Richards has been a patrol officer since 1986
He was eventually taken into custody after being contacted and ordered to return to the department.
Richards is also charged with having his police-issued firearm in the trunk of his vehicle.
He's due back in court in April.
