RUTLAND, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The Rutland selectman charged after a vice squad prostitution sting says he is not resigning.

Wayne Walker was arrested last month on a charge of paying for sexual conduct.

Following an executive session last night by the Board of Selectmen, Walker read a statement saying that he first considered resigning, but changed his mind after talking to some townspeople who offered their support.

Walker says the incident involving an undercover officer posing as a prostitute is a personal matter and he does not wish to comment on it.
