Four Overdoses In Lowell In 12 Hours

LOWELL, MA (WBZ-AM) -- City officials in Lowell are warning the public about a potential deadly batch of fentanyl after seeing four fatal overdoses from opioids in 12 hours.

"We believe these overdoses were a mix of heroin/fentanyl/ and cocaine/fentanyl said Jefferey Windward, Lowell, MA Fire Chief.

In a release to the public Windward urges people not to use these drugs.

"We strongly urge people not to use opiates, but if you or your loved one is suffering from addiction please be extra vigilant in the coming days "Do not use alone, check on your loved ones frequently if they may be using opiates, and call 911 immediately if you witness an overdose."
