How The McCourty Twins View The Game Differently

Jason McCourty is entering his 10th NFL season, first with New England, after a trade from Cleveland last week.

Of course, Jason's twin Devin has been a fixture in the Patriots secondary his entire eight-year career.

Devin is a safety, and an awfully successful one, as a two-time Pro Bowler and three-time Second-Team All-Pro.

Jason is a corner with no individual accolades - but he's a good player.

Jason, how do you and Devin view the game differently at this stage of your careers?

“That’s probably one of the most intriguing parts about teaming back up,” Jason McCourty said. “We went through all those years of playing football together and now, almost a decade later, through different experiences, we’ve seen the game, over the last nine years, through two different lenses.”

“It’s going to be really interesting, I think, for both of us - sitting in meeting rooms, being on the practice field – how we see things and how differently we see them, or how much alike. I think that’s probably intriguing for the coaches, as well, and I think the one really cool thing is we’re probably each other’s biggest fan and biggest critic. I’m very interested to see how much we can push each other to become better leaders, better players.”

The McCourty twins haven't teamed up since college at Rutgers.
