Woman Rescued From Burning Home Dies Of Her Injuries

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A woman rescued from her burning home has died from her injuries.

A fire broke out at the two-family home on Harvard Street in Quincy early Sunday morning.

Fire officials say the 54-year-old woman was rescued from her first floor apartment but later died at Brigham and Women's hospital from the severity of her burns.

A dog also perished in the fire. Fire officials say a family on the second floor of the building managed to escape the blaze.

The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Office of the State Marshal and Norfolk District Attorney's office.

The woman has not been identified.
