Settlement Reached In Asbestos Removal At Salem Public Housing

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM)  – Four Massachusetts companies will pay up to $340,000 dollars in penalties to settle charges of illegal asbestos work at a public housing facility in Salem.

The settlement puts an end to the case against E& F Environmental services, New England builders and contractors, Blackstone Block Architects and TRC environmental corporation.

Attorney general Maura Healey says the companies failed to follow proper abatement procedures and falsely filed documents related to work at pioneer terrace housing.
