Quincy Man Sentenced In Puppy Doe Case

DEDHAM, MA (WBZ-AM/24/7 News Source) -- A former Quincy man convicted on animal cruelty charges in the Puppy Doe case has been sentenced 4 to 5 years in prison.

He is already serving a prison sentence for an unrelated conviction and will serve a total of 8 to 10 years behind bars

Radoslaw Czerkawski was arrested after his badly beaten pit bull was found at a Quincy playground in 2013 and was found guilty Monday on 12 counts of animal cruelty in Dedham Superior Court.

The sentence issued by a Norfolk Superior Court Judge Beverly Cannone will be split into three sentences concurrently.

He will serve 2 years probation once he is released however officials say that probation would not delay any removal from the United States by federal authorities as Czerkawski is a Polish national.
