BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- If you plan on hitting the road for the holiday weekend, better pack your patience Higher vehicle volume is causing backups on the major roadways in and around Boston during the evening commute on Friday.
As of 5:20PM
I-90 Westbound is heavy with stop and go traffic for 24 miles from Boston all the way to I-495 in Hopkinton.
I-90 Eastbound is heavy from I-95/Rt128 to Newton Corner.
Rt. 128/I-95 Southbound is stop and go from Lynnfield through Needham. There is a little running room until you hit the brakes again in Dedham.
Meanwhile on the Expressway (I-93) Southbound also heavy leaving the city.
