EASTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The family of a missing Easton man is crying foul over the way police handled the case.
Helen Glavin, claims that Easton Police didn't do enough to find her missing son.
Gregory Glavin, 35, was last seen on February 17, filling up his moped at a gas station after leaving his friend's house in North Attleborough.
A body believed to be Galvin's was found by a group of volunteers close to his home Thursday afternoon.
"They just didn't care, they didn't care at all they put no effort. It's just an incomplete investigation by the Easton Police Department that's what I'm upset about. Total incomplete investigation,” she said.
Glavin, says police conducted only one search for Gregory on February 27 just ten days after he went missing while driving his moped.
“They told me that they covered everything and he wasn’t out there… they said they could do no more searches. That was it. It was the end of the story,” she said.
But it wasn’t the end of the story -- The Glavins brought in the all-volunteer Massachusetts Rescue and Recovery K-9 team to continue the search.
After only four hours, volunteers found Gregory's body and his moped under a tarp in the woods less than a half a mile from his home.
Helen cannot say enough about the volunteers who found her son “It was they were looking for their own kid. They got to know about great they there were really amazing people,”she said.
Easton Police have not made any comments on the accusations that they didn't do enough to find Gregory Glavin and issued a press release several hours after Greg's body was found saying foul play is not suspected in his death.
Karen says she is just grateful that her son is finally home.
“It’s good that I know where he is," she said.
