NH Man Arrested For Driving Erratically At 106 MPH

RANDOLPH, NH (WBZ-AM) -- New Hampshire State Police arrested man Sunday afternoon in Randolph, NH after he was caught speeding 51 miles over the legal limit and driving erratically.

According to a press release by NH State Police,  Scott M. Steiger, 23, of Laconia, NH, was arrested after a Trooper saw him him drive at approximately 106 miles per hour on Route 2 in Randolph.

That section of road has a posted speed limit of 55 MPH.

New Hampshire State Police Trooper Garrett Rella was traveling westbound on Route 2 in Randolph, when he saw two vehicles traveling east bound towards him. 

The second vehicle, a gray Chrysler 200,  accelerated and passed the first vehicle on a solid yellow line reaching a speed of 106 MPH.

State Trooper Rella had to take evasive action as the speeding vehicle was in his lane to avoid a collision. 

Rella turned around and eventually caught up with Steiger, where he was arrested and charged with several charges including: 

Reckless driving, overtaking a vehicle on the left, and a solid yellow line violation. 

Steiger is scheduled for arraignment in the 1st Circuit Berlin Court on May 22nd, 2018.
