HANOVER, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The effects of the winter storms of the last half of the season are still with us and it could be summer before our lawns and parks and roadsides finally shake-off the damage.
Downed and damaged trees are taking a long time to clear.
Chris Glynn of Glynn Tree Experts in Hanover has been doing this work for 40 years has and never seen a winter like the one we just had.
"It was a premium conditions for tree damage cause it was wet ground conditions, the wind hit the pines right and flipped a lot of pines so it was a lot of pines and significant of hard woods too," Glynn said.
Wet ground is making it unwise to get at some of the debris right now...but once gone someone will fins a use for the tree that blocked your road.
"There are certain vendors that take wood chips and they recycle them and put them into mulch and a lot of the pine logs get ground up and sent to different recycling centers, and of course we have a big market for the fire wood too," he said.
