BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) – The Cannabis Control Commission has approved the first 20 applications for priority review -- those businesses can now be the first to apply for a recreational marijuana business license one week from April 11.

The priority program allows those entities to leapfrog to the front of the license application line -- intended to assist people disproportionately affected by marijuana possession from the war on drugs.

The regulatory body agreed to expedite the license reviews but did not release details about the businesses -- those will be available online later Wednesday.
