NEWTON (24/7 NewsSource) -- The state has received about 80 complaints about the closure of Mount Ida College.
Students and their families frustrated by the abrupt announcement of the closing.
The Department of Higher Education met with leaders of the Newton school Thursday to talk about the plans and work to help students transfer to an appropriate school.
Colleges are supposed to submit plans to the State Department of Higher Education before closing; Mount Ida reportedly did not follow that procedure. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday.
