ANTIOCH, TN (WBZ-AM) -- Four people were killed and several more injured after a shooting in the Nashville area of Tennessee early Sunday morning.
Nashville Police Tweeted that the gunman opened fire at 3:25 a.m. The gunman, identified as a white man with short hair, was nude and fled on foot. Police later confirmed that a fourth person died in the shooting, per The Associated Press.
A patron then wrestled away the gunman’s rifle, according to police.
Vanderbilt Hospital spokesperson Jennifer Wetzel told ABC News that the hospital had accepted three of the injured patients, all of whom were in critical condition.
Police say Travis Reinking, 29, of Morton, IL, is a person of interest in the shooting. The vehicle the gunman arrived in was registered to him, according to Nashville PD.
Statement from Waffle House, per WKRN-TV:
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident. Right now, our first thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we will be there for them in this most difficult time. We are still gathering the details, and so we do not have much information to share. While this is an active investigation, we defer all questions about the incident to the Metro Police in Nashville. Our Senior Vice President, Area Vice President, Division Manager and other members of management are on site now to assist in any way they can. We also have a corporate team on the way from Atlanta. This is a very sad day for the Waffle House family, and we ask for everyone to keep the victims and their families in their thoughts and prayers."
