BOSTON (AP) — The renowned Boston Pops orchestra kicks off a new season this week.
Conductor Keith Lockhart will direct as the orchestra opens its 2018 spring season Wednesday with multi-platinum-selling pop artist Andy Grammer. Grammer is known for "Keep Your Head Up," ''Honey, I'm Good," ''Fresh Eyes," and other hits.
The Pops' season will celebrate the centennial of the birth of Leonard Bernstein, who made his professional conducting debut at the helm of the Boston orchestra.
The orchestra will perform hits from Bernstein's signature scores for "West Side Story" and "On the Waterfront."
On May 15-16 — "Rock the Pops" — British vocalist Alfie Boe will sing hits from Pink Floyd, Queen, The Who, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
"Hamilton" star Leslie Odom Jr. performs with the Pops on June 12-14.
