BOSTON (AP) - A local woman has pleaded guilty in a Boston federal court to robbing two banks in the area, sometimes in the company of a man known as the "Route 128 Bandit."
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Tamea Chambers pleaded guilty to two counts of bank robbery Tuesday in connection to the robberies of the East Boston Savings Bank and a branch of Bank of America in October 2017.
In both robberies, Chambers demanded money from tellers and stated she had a gun, prompting them to give her the cash.
Area video footage shows Chambers with Paul Landrum, dubbed the "Route 128 Bandit," by law enforcement for his role in other bank robberies.
Chambers and Landrum were arrested on unrelated charges in 2017, and admitted their involvement in the robberies.
Chambers will be sentenced in August.
