BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) – No bail for a Dorchester man accused of shooting and killing two innocent bystanders outside a Jamaica Plain housing complex on May 4.

At an arraignment in Roxbury Municipal Court on Monday, prosecutors told a judge that Wilvin Guity, was caught on surveillance video getting out of his car--walking into the courtyard of the apartment complex and firing at Christopher Joyce, 23, and Clayborn Blair 58.

Blair was a Navy veteran and Joyce was just a week away from graduating from Salem State University. The first in his family to graduate from college.

"I'm certain our city is a safer place with Wilvin Guity behind bars," said Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans.

After the arraignment, Fannie Armstrong, the grandmother of Joyce, spoke to WBZ NewsRadio1030’s Carl Steven’s outside Roxbury District Court,

“He was an angel, he was a perfect guy he never hurt anybody  Since this has happened you’ve not heard a bad thing about him --- nothing negative from the school to the development no one has said anything negative about my grandson…you know this shouldn’t have happened he was a good guy,” Armstrong said.

She also expressed disappointment in not being able to see Guity during the arraignment.

“We should be able to see who killed our grandson, our loved one. You know, that’s not right they should to change that. You know,  oh the lawyer said he can’t be seen -- he need to be seen, he was bold enough to pull that trigger, he should be able to be seen in front of the community She said.
