Cop Killer Texted Ex-Girlfriend After Murder

YARMOUTH, MA (WBZ-AM) – New details have been released connected to the murder of Yarmouth Police Sergeant Sean Gannon -- and what took place in the moments after.

The Cape Cod times reports as he sat in the attic of the Marstons Mills home where the murder occurred,  Thomas Latanowich sent what the paper calls "frantic" messages to his ex-girlfriend -- saying: "I shot a cop -- I killed a cop."

The paper reports Latanowich and Krystal Bearse had a conversation -- in which Bearse told him to "do the right thing."

Latanowich  then asked Massachusetts State Police to get Bearse to the home -- which she agreed to do -- and sometime later – Latanowich  was taken into custody.

He’s is now being held without bail charged with the death of Gannon and mistreating his police dog, Nero.
