WEBSTER, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts teen has drowned just days after graduating from high school.
The Worcester County District Attorney's office says 18-year-old Christensen Agnant, of Worcester, died Saturday evening after going underwater at Lake Webster.
Officials say Agnant was attending a graduation party nearby when he and a group of teens decided to go to the lake.
Agnant went into the water around 7:30 p.m., and the teens tried to rescue him. An off-duty police officer also jumped in to help the teen.
Divers found Agnant and brought him to shore, and the teen was later pronounced dead at Harrington Hospital.
Agnant graduated from South High Community School in Worcester Tuesday.
Prosecutors say no foul play is suspected in his death.
