BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- There's enough ice cream on City Hall Plaza to feed a happy herd of hungry kids and adults--and it's all for a great cause.

The 36th annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl opened Tuesday at noon. The event is held to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It's billed as the nation's largest ice cream festival--and WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens was there for the festivities.

"I think this is a great way to support a very prominent cause here in Boston that everybody loves," said one guest. "It's a great thing for families, and everybody, every age--so come get some ice cream!"

The Scooper Bowl is open until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Admission is $15 for adults--or, you can get a three-day pass for $20 if you're really hungry.
